We would like to run the TMDSIDK437x board as master for HIPERFACE DSL.

Do you have a complete SW package for this purpose available?
Is it in any case required to access the evaluation board via TwinCAT? (is both TwinCAT2 and TwinCat3 working?)
Is there another way to interface with the TMDSIDK437X?
How do we program it? Is there a special adapter needed?
How can we read-out the data to see if the communication to the HIPERFACE encoder is working?

From the Sitara perspective, we have the Industrial Drives package (Drives Package) as an add-on to our RTOS Processor SDK (RTOS Proc SDK). These two software packages run on our AM437x IDK (IDK Tool Folder) board.

The Industrial Drives package has a HIPERFACE DSL example application in the examples/hdsl_diagnostic/ directory. The PRU firmware that the example uses can be found in interfaces/hdsl_master/firmware/ directory.

Documentation for the firmware can be found in the interfaces/hdsl_master/doc/ directory and documentation for the example can be found on the Industrial Drives wiki page here: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../PRU_ICSS_Industrial_Drives

Here is a TI Design for HIPERFACE DSL on the AM437x IDK: http://www.ti.com/tool/tidep0035. This TI Design was written before the current RTOS SDK and Drives Package were created. So, the information in them is useful to describe our encoder implementations, however, the Industrial Drives Package User’s Guide is the best source for replicating our current HIPERFACE DSL diagnostics.
