Flashburn Utility Porting Kit

Unfortunately the Flashburn Porting Kit is the only software for sale of its kind that I have come across for burning the flash of a DM643x device. Sometimes on other platforms where Flashburn is not available a customized flash burning application will be written, basically a .out file that asks for an image file that it will then burn to flash, so it is possible to burn the flash without Flashburn, the Flashburn utility just makes it easier as it handles the overhead protocol of transferring the image and gives you an example flash burning algorithm to start with.

UPDATE: There actually is a stand alone flashing utility with source available for the DM6437, if you go to the EVM updates site through www.ti.com/davinciregistration there should be a link in the DM6437 section to 'DM643x Flashing Utilities' that has a CCS project for flash burning you could use as an alternative, this is the sort of custom flash application i was inferring above.

i working with evm6424 , i need info about how to burn my code in da flash. Do i hve to buy the porting kit software ? bec no examples came with my evm on Flash burn ... need help

It does not look like the flashing software is included with the EVM6424 as you mention. Please try downloading this as the DM643x tool should be similar enough to work on the C6424 EVM, if you cannot access this link after logging into my.ti than please let me know.

Actually it looks like we can do one better, particularly if you are using the C6424 EVM as opposed to a custom board. See the new FAQ here for instructions on using Flash Burn (which is free for use on the EVM).
