Development environment

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320DM6441

Hello,

I am new to DSP and below you can see my questions. Thank you in advance for your response.

1. Can I use Code Composer for development purposes with TMS320DM335 and TMS320DM6441? Or what is reccommended?

Can I migrate projects from IAR? Is there compiler instruction compatibility?

2. Is there any support for Linux MontaVista? Do I need to contact MontaVista regarding SW? Is support available from TI or MontaVista?

Which IDE is reccommended to build the applications?

3. What are the possibilities to use DSP functions in Linux environment ?

4. Which HW do I need to access target platform?

Thank you in advance,

Gyro76

  • #1: Is IAR used for micro controller programing? I have never heard of people porting applications. What kind of application are you developing? simple ones might be OK, CCS is not for complex, multithreaded application that requires buffer management. BTW, Dm335 has no DSP core in it, only ARM.

#4: Are you asking about emulators? XDS510 is recommended.

#2 and #3, please post your questions in the Linux forum.
