CLK routing help.

Hi,

I am confused on how to calculate longest Manhattan distance of the CLK. Assuming the B segment length is equal to C, is the the total length  A+2B or A+B ?

Does the height of the termination resistor (0402 package) affect this distance?

Thanks in advance.

  • Hello,

To calculate the Manhattan distance you do not need to add "B" twice.  It is the max trace length all the way from the controller to the memory.  So you would need to add the A and B and the rest of the distance to the controller.

The height of the resistor does not affect the distance, but the length does.
