Hi, everyone:
CPU is am4378 and DDR3 chip has 16 data pins.
How to connect data pins between CPU and DDR3? Leave the CPU's D16~D31 pins floating?

Hi, everyone:

How to connect data pins between CPU and DDR3? Leave the CPU's D16~D31 pins floating?
Part Number: AM4378
Hello, everyone:
I am confused about single DDR connection with am4378.
Check datasheet www.ti.com/.../am4378.pdf
At Page 1, I found this:
It seems you only have three chose when design your DDR3 memory section:
1. Use one DDR3 chip with 32 data bit
2. Use two DDR3 chips with 16 data bit
3. Use four DDR3 chips with 8 data bit
Thus, the 32 data bit of CPU must be usd all.
However, I found this at page 174:
It says, the DDR3 EMIF supports not only 32 bits wide, but also 16 bits wides. Are the descriptions of these two places contradictory?
My questions :
1. Can I design my board with only one DDR3 chip of 16 data bit?
2. There is not a case of using DDR3 with 32 data bits in Table 5-50, why?
