TCI6638K2K

Part Number: TCI6638K2K
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TCI6630K2L, TCI6636K2H

Hi,

I have attempted to read the internal temperature of TCI6638K2K device by following the steps outlined in section 1.3.1 of SPRABX9C - Power Management of KeyStone II Devices.

The following observations need clarification and explanation:

1. SRSS_TEMP_CTL0_REG at 0x0233001C can not be changed, it always read back 0x00000000.

2. In Table 11-7 of SPRS836G, SmartReflex module is "Always on"; however, reading MODSTAT13 at 0x02350834 returns 0x00000F02, indicating the module clock is OFF.

My questions are:

1. Does module SmartReflex in Table 11-7 of SPRS836G control access of SRSS register spaces at 0x02330000 - 0x023303FF and 0x02330400 - 0x023307FF?

2. Why SmartReflex's MODSTAT13 indicates module clock is OFF while it should be ALWAYS ON?

3. What could be the root cause of not being able to read SoC's internal temperature?

Thanks

Konny

  • Hello,
Smart Reflex Class 0 is supported for TCI6638K2K, and TCI6636K2H. Smart Reflex Class 0 TC is supported for other family devices. TCI6630K2L, 66AK2Exx, 66AK2Gxx. www.ti.com/.../sprabx9c.pdf

The K2K and K2H devices, are programmed during test with the CVDD voltage for Class 0 operation. The internal temperature sensors are not calibrated or used, since these devices do not support Smart Reflex Class 0 TC.
