DM6446 EVM NTSC PAL composite signal output issue

There is a composite signal problem about output level difference between  horizontal sync pulses and color burst in Davinci EVM board.

Horizontal sync pulses level is higher than color burst level about 200mV. ( Both values should be equal to 40IRE ~650mV )

How to work out this issue ?

  • FYI, in composite analog output mode, the sync pulses are embedded within the data and not output via separate pins.

Separete sync pins are used for digital output; therefore we want to make sure you are not looking at these pins.

Can you confirm how you are measuring the volatge differences and if you are looking at the correct pins?

If you are indeed looking in the right place, then you should check the corresponding video standards docs (NTSC or PAL); I am certain there should be a variation between sync and color bursts (just do not recall how much).
