Linux/TDA2EVM5777: Using VideoEncode link with input channels of different fps

Part Number: TDA2EVM5777

Tool/software: Linux

I'm trying to build a usecase like this

(high level view)
Capture -> Dup
Dup -> Vpe -> Encode -> Null (Drive Recording)
Dup -> Alg_Custom_Link -> Encode -> Null (Alg Result Dump)

The output frame rate of Alg_Custom_Link will be less than the capture frame rate.

As only one instance of VideoEncode link is allowed and it supports only one input queue, I'm planning to add a merge link before the Encode link.

Capture -> Dup
Dup -> Vpe -> Merge
Dup -> Alg_Custom_Link -> Merge
Merge -> Encode -> Null [ch0-Drive Recording, ch1-Alg Result Dump]

As the framerate of the incoming channels at the InputQueue of Encode link will be different,
    a) Will it effect the functioning of the VideoEncode link ?
    b) Will frame-rate of output channels be same as the input channels' ?

  • Hi,

    the output frame rate will be same as input frame rate for diff channels.
    But you have to make sure encoder is not encoding more than 60fps else IVA will not be able to encode and that wuill effect as frame drop.
