Powering the board through USB OTG port, but still work as a USB HOST

Hi All,

I have a custom board based on OMAP4 4430. I have a situation where I am powering my board through USB OTG port and at the same time, the port should work as a USB HOST. The said configuration is not in USB specification, I just wanted to use the +/- pins of the OTG port just to give power to the main board, but I want to act the said port in USB HOST mode to enumerate devices.

Any idea how to implement it?.

Hi John,

There is no way to use the port as host mode and to power the board simultaneously. Also, you shouldn't use D+ and D- on the OTG to power the board; it should be through VBUS.
