Linux/TMS320DM368: How can I estimate the microprocessor system efficiency limitation?

Part Number: TMS320DM368

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

I have a problem with dual stream video camera with video processing at 1280x960 resolution. I cannot reach the desired 25fps frame-rate for a single stream mode - I get only 22 - 23fps. For the dual stream mode the result is even worse - around 17 -18fps).

I have tried a number of my software optimizations that slightly improved the video processing but now I don't have any other options and ideas for improvement. I suspect some hardware efficiency limitations or a memory bus bandwidth problem, but we have no idea how to measure it.

Does anybody know a way to check or measure the microprocessor application efficiency and limitations?
