what does sys_drm_msecure do?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TPS65930, OMAP3530

hi all, we're using OMAP3530 with TPS65930.

we have 3530's sys_drm_msecure connected to 65930's msecure pin, and I found it is recommended by the document [TPS65930/20 and OMAP3530 Hardware Connectivity User's Guide (Literature Number: SWCU059A)].

I know 65930's MSECURE pin just need high or low levels. but we can not find information about how sys_drm_msecure functions. and if we set this pin to Mode1( sys_drm_msecu ) by setting the CONTROL_PADCONF_ETK_D8[15:0], which module will control this pin?

  • SYS_DRM_MSECURE output from OMAP35x is really only applicable for high security devices.  It allows an HS device to lockdown some registers in the TPS device.  For OMAP35x GP devices, you should use the GPIO_22 for this functionality.  If not needed, simply have a pullup on the signal or drive it high to allow access to all TPS registers.
