Linux/AM3359: TCP bug question

Part Number: AM3359

Tool/software: Linux

Hi,

We are using the AM3359 in one of our products and the latest SDK 4.03, which has Linux kernel 4.9.69 (LTS).

I read a recent article on the Linux kernel bug which has a TCP flaw leading to DoS attack in Linux version 4.9 and up

www.zdnet.com/.../

I just wanted to reach out and check if this has an impact of the current SDK we use on the AM335x and if so do you have any inputs or feedback on the same.

Thanks,

Prema

  • Hi,

The question you are asking is an area at a higher level in the kernel than what TI supports which are the drivers for the peripherals of the SOC. This question is better answered by the Linux kernel LTS community.

I will check if the driver team has heard of the issue, regardless though the fix for this flaw would have to come from the community as a patch to the 4.9.x kernel.

    Best Regards,
    Schuyler
