BeagleBoard boot up issue.

Hello,

         I have been following instructions of  the following link to validate my hardware with a custom u-boot.bin:

On power-up all that I see on the serial is the following and frozen thereafter;

Texas INstruments X-Loader 1.4.2 (Feb 19 2009 - 12z01z24)                      
Reading boot sec                                                               
Loading u-boot.bin from mmc

any suitable hints/pointers would be appreciated.
