5515 Wakeup

Is it neccesary to use the wakeup pin for waking up the device? I am using the eZdsp board and there it is not so nice to get access to the wakeup pin because it is tight to ground via R52. I could desolder the resistor and solder a wire at the pad but this is not a nice solution (especially because I need some kind of a connection ...)

I hope someone can help me

Hi Marc,

That would depend on the mode that you are trying to wake up from. Do you want to wake up from the RTC mode or the CPU idle mode?

I haven't found detailed information to the sleep modes yet. But I think the CPU can idle and "hibernate" (I'm not sure about that). But I think "idle" is sleepy enough to save power.

I have a light bark hooked up at GPIO4 and 5 with which I could wake up the CPU (if(GPIO4 or GPIO5)==high){wakeup})

Marc,

From the CPU idle mode, any unmasked interrupts can wake up the device. You do not necessarily need to use the wake up pin.

So I can use GPIO4 and 5 for wakeup and as a interrupt? I never used GPIO pins before so I dunno if they are usable as a interrupt too (there are no specific interrupt pins)

If any of the GPIO pins are configured as inputs, they can be enabled to accept external signals as interrupts using the GPIO Interrupt Enable Registers (IOINTEN1 and IOINTEN2). Please refer to the C5515 Systems Guide (http://www.ti.com/litv/pdf/sprufx5) for more details on power configurations and waking up the device.
