TMS320C5515: USB throughput

My customer evaluate C5515 for record pen, evaluating USB MSC performance on C5515 EVM.

customer referred c55_csl_3.06 example CSL_USB_MSC_fullSpeedExample, use SanDisk 16GB class10 card, copy file from U-Disk(C5515 EVM) to PC, can only achieve 3MB/s as below snapshot.

#1.What is the max USB throughput can achieve on C5515? is there benchmark data?

#2. How to optimize the throughput base on the CSL example?

Hi Tony,

As it is described in the csl_usb_msc_fullspeed_example.c file test procedure for C5515 PLL frequency can be 60MHz and 100MHz
The test can be performed in Debug or Release mode.
Could you give some more details about test procedure of CSL_USB_MSC_fullSpeedExample:
1. What PPL frequency is set during your test?
2. Did you perform test in Debug mode only?
3. Could you measure the throughput in Release mode?
I would like to compare USB throughput in Debug and Release mode at 100 MHz PLL.

100MHz。

tested in both mode, 3MB/s at Release mode, 2.59MB/s at Debug Mode.

below snapshot is under debug mode.

This post discusses a similar issue to your question, and also has ways to improve throughout. There's also some example code on one of the posts that can help. Please share these with your customer.

What is their expected R/W throughput?
