AM3358: SFP connector

Hi,

Is it possible to connect a AM3358 to a SFP connector without a PHY? For example to redesign a Beaglebone black by removing the RJ45 and LAN8710A PHY chip and replacing them with a SFP connector directly to the AM3358.
