Compiler/TDA2PXEVM: How to format input data to radar usecases?

Hi,

I've tried to generate some sample radar data to feed to the radar algorithms which should have a target at 30 meters, 10 degrees, and 2 m/s. However, when I run the beam forming usecase, the target shows up at 6 meters and 13 degrees, and when I run the heat map usecase, the target doesn't show up at all. How should the input data be formatted for it to be properly processed by the EVE and DSP?

Richard,

To start with, can you please check the number of Rx and Tx antennas are set correctly or not? The data should be non interleaved with respect to the Rx Antennas and if the bit width of every sample is 16 bits then the default configurations would work out of box (no input parameter change required).

Also, to isolate if the issue is a visualization problem or not, can you print out the values of the beam forming to make sure atleast the processing is okay.

Hi Piyali,

I have verified that the number of Tx and Tx antennas are correct, and the data should be following the format you described. Attached is some generated input data for 30 m, +10 degrees, and 0 m/s:

What is the range and angle resolution of your capture? Are you using the same waveform as the TI example?

I have resolved the range and velocity discrepancies by tuning the range and velocity resolution constants.
