Why L1D->VICP Image Buffer IDMA transfer faster than L2->VICP Image Buffer IDMA on DM648 ?

I observed L1D->VICP Image Buffer IDMA transfer is significantly faster than L2->VICP Image Buffer IDMA transfer. I have gone through "TMS320C64x+ DSP Megamodule Reference Guide"(SPRU871.pdf) but couldn't find any explanation as it is mentioned that both L1D and L2 memory are connected by 256 bit bus(Fig. 1-1) with IDMA controller.

Could anybody explain me the reason ?
