Linux/PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X: Weston window problem

Part Number: PROCESSOR-SDK-AM335X

Tool/software: Linux

I tested all TI SDK window systems. I tested wayland wenston on all versions of ti-processor- SDK - Linux.

I used waylan weston as the window system test and found the following problems:

When multiple Windows are opened simultaneously, the focus is at the top. When the top window is closed or minimized, the second window becomes the top window, but the focus does not return to the second window (it has become the top window). Neither Ubuntu nor Windows systems have this problem.

The latest version of the SDK on the official website has been updated to ti-processor-sdk-linux-am335x-evm-05.00.15. Why not fix this problem? Didn't the official engineer find the problem? How to solve this problem?

  • Hi,

Thanks for reporting the issue. I will get back to you with our findings on this matter.

Could you please explain what's meant by "focus" in your post? At our end we opened multiple browser window and were able to close all of them one at a time

TI has integrated wayland/weston as windows manager in processor SDK Linux. Weston manager is open source component and TI has just integrated the package in SDK. Any issue with weston manager needs to be taken with weston community. Windows systems and UBUNTU has different windows manager than wayland/weston, so the comparison is not applicable.

  • Hi,manisha
Tomorrow or next Monday I will describe the test method and phenomenon in detail, and I am busy with other things now. This problem directly affects the qt app using the standard keyboard, which is exposed when the qt interface is closed and hidden by the shortcut key.

If use weston terminal test, insert the standard keyboard, open multiple weston terminal, and then use the mouse to minimize the terminal of a top (left-click the minimize button on the terminal)or is turned off, keep the mouse did not move and can't use the mouse to click or double-click the second terminal (terminal interface has become the top), the standard keyboard input character to the terminal, the focus is not in the terminal.
  • Hi,

We do not see any issue with multiple weston terminals. Let us know how you insert the standard keyboard and how can we replicate your issue.

    Regards,
    Manisha
