connecting dsk320c6713 using CCSv4.1 on windows 7

I am trying to port a project from an old windows XP (32-bit) machine running under CCSv3.1, to a new machine running windows 7(64-bit) and CCSv4.1.3. The board I am using, a DSK320C6713 from Spectrum Digital, connected with no complications on the windows XP machine, as the board came with a CD containing several drivers for the platform. I cannot however get the same code to run on the newer machine under CCSv4.1, as windows 7 does not support CCSv3.1. This may be my lack of knowledge of the compiler, as the difference between CCSv3.1 and v4.1 is quite dramatic, but are there any specific drivers or libraries needed to connect to  the DSK320C6713 board. Thank you.

  • Ke Yong Li,

Please provide some more detail on what is not working. Are you able to connect to the board, or compile or load or Go main?

The TI Wiki Pages have a lot of very helpful information for all types of CCSv4 questions and problems. One that I go to very often when I startup a new board is GSG:Common_target_configurations where you can search for DSK6713 for some advice.

    Regards,
    RandyP

  • I am not able to connect to the board, in the older version of CCS the board had to be connected to run CCS. In CCSv4.1 I do not need to connect the board to launch the application and once launched I cannot find a way to connect to the board without debugging the program. I am using code that built fine in the older version of CCS, but it will not build correctly in CSSv4.1, so i cannot "connect target" after i debug because there are errors(i will copy them below).Essentially my problem is my lack of understanding of this new environment and it is crucial I get it working in a newer OS, so sticking with CCSv3.1 is not really an option.

These are the errors i recieve:

It is telling me it cannot find the header file, however i have added it to the project. In fact, all files that were needed in the older version, i have included in this project. I set up the target configuration as well. I cannot find any solid documentation online for this(the wiki was not helpful) and just need help getting the TMS320C6713 board running in CCSv4.1
