Hi Sir

We would like to implement Profibus DP Master in AM3352 platform with Linux

Q1: Could we use standard UART port to implement it ?

Q2: Does TI have any reference for it ?

Q3: Does TI have any 3rd-party or open source for it ?

Hi Yimin, we use PRU-ICSS for implementing Profibus FDL as explained in below's white paper

Profibus on AM335x

For running our PRU-ICSS Profibus Master you need AM3356, 7, 8 or 9 as mentioned Supported Platforms from download page

Hi Yimin, As I see it, performance cannot be guarantee If using SoC UART instead of using PRU-ICCS UART. PRU-ICSS is a pretty deterministic sub-system. On the other hand, SoC resources performance would depend on what is being run and configured. I would suggest to use AM3356, AM3357, AM3358 or AM3359.
