RTOS/AM5728: IPC example build error

Dear Team,

My customer has looked for IPC examples between A15(TI-RTOS) and DSP(TI-RTOS), and thus I suggested to refer the examples in the IPC package as below.

//ipc_3_47_02_00/examples/AM572x_bios_elf/ex02_messageq

But, when they tried to build it, they faced build error and modified source in below.

Could you please check if this is right?

To execute it, they tried to run script as below, but faced error. Could you please check below also?

Could you please let me know if there is any other good example for IPC communication between ARM and DSP.

Their SW is RTOS PSDK v5.0, and they are using RTOS on both ARM and DSP.

Hello,

Their changes look OK. I recommend they try running the example built from makefiles to verify their hardware/tool setup. Instructions to build them can be found here:
software-dl.ti.com/.../Foundational_Components_IPC.html

Also, instead of running the EnableAllCores script, they can try connecting to the A15 and then the DSP individually.

Hi,

I found there is no error occurred when they built it using makefile, and moreover there was no need to modify source code.
The ex02 example in IPC package was built well with makefile and runs well also.
All issues occurred because my customer used CCS project and there should be something wrong in their CCS project.

So, do you have CCS projects for any IPC examples working on AM5728?

Hi Sahin,

They found it works well in CCSv7, but failed to run it again when they create new project in CCSv8 referencing your project.

Questions are,

1. Finally they can run their new project successfully when they changed as below.

Could you please let me know what is 'RB' in below? why they should modify it?

2. They changed build environments for their target platform as below,

Project Variant : AM5728_RevA -> AM5726_RevA

Platform : ti.platforms.evmDRA7XX:host -> ti.platforms.evmAM572X:host

but below error was occurred. Do you have any idea why below errors occurred?

Hi SI,

1. Make sure they have the following line in Build Settings->Build->XDCtools->Advanced Options->Configuration script arguments (--cfgArgs)

"{ configBld: \"../../config.bld\"}"

2. If they change the platform they will also need to update the platforms in the config.bld file:

Build.platformTable["ti.platforms.evmDRA7XX:dsp1"] = {

change to:

Build.platformTable["ti.platforms.evmAM572x:dsp1"] = {

Do this for all cores.
