hi All,

I am looking to implement routine for i2c based EDID EEPROM monitor data reading and auto adjusting davincifb accordingly.

So, I am keen to know , is there any specific interface/method defined in davinciFb or in VPBE for the same. whereas refering other FB's like nvidia , i can see there something for the same.

appreciate your help / advice.

We did not include support for EDID in our DaVinci driver, but it should bot be to hard to add. We do provide an I2C driver which is used to configure TVP5146 in some of our EVMs.

What platform are you working with (DM644X, DM6467, DM643X...)?

I am working on DM355 plateform.

u mean I2C driver does similar kind of stuff with TVP5146 , Like reading EDID EEPROM info and configuring the fb?

TVP5146 has no EDID; I mentioned it becuase it is a device controlled by I2C bus; therefore, it provides a good reference on how you can add a function in the video driver to read the EDID data via I2C (using EEPROM I2C address instead). Once you have this data, you will still need to parse it yourself.
