TMS320C5545: Microphone array to connect to the TMS320C5545 booster pack

Hello,

I am working on a new smart thermostat controlled by voice and I would like to use the TMS320C5535 or 5545 DSP. I have purchased the TMS320C5545 BoosterPack HW with the intention to test the different functionalities that this DSP offers when it comes to far field voice detection such as beam forming, echo cancellation, etc.

There is only a single microphone on the board and I was wondering if there is a recommendation how to connect a microphone array to the TMS320C5545 BoosterPack and what microphone array have been verified. Any document or reference to projects that have integrated with a microphone array would be appreciated.

Hi Charles,

I suggest you 2 solution for microphone arrays TIDA-01470 and TIDA-01454 PCM1864-Based Linear Microphone Boards (LMB) respectively with 4 and 8 microphones. You can connect these boards via I2C interface. You can find hardware and software setup for LMBs at:
