Noisy Audio on DM6467 under GIT Linux

We have been using the DM6467 evaluation board from TI. We are receiving analog audio/video on CVB and audio in.
Initially we were running MontaVista Linux 5 (MVL5) and we could get all video and audio data properly on the DM6467.

Then we moved from MontaVista Linux to GIT Linux ( kernel 2.6.32) and we installed the required drivers from TI.
Now we get noisy audio data on the McASP.

We have reasons to believe that the audio decoder and its driver are working fine.
However, we think that the problem lies with the McASP driver under GIT.

We compared the code of the McASP driver under MVL and under GIT and there seem to be a lot of difference between the 2.

Does anybody have expereince of noisy audio while using GIT kernel on the DM6467?
