TMS320C6678: Lot trace code information

Hi,

We have a customer received a package of TMS320C6678ACYPA.

Customer is confused about the information on device marking and package LOT trace code.

Can you tell us how to read the LOT Trace code from package as well as from device marking?

Hi Pavel,

I suggest you to take a look at c66x device nomenclature Figure 2-17 at:
www.ti.com/.../tms320c6678.pdf
For example TMS320C6678ACYPA means:
c6678ACYPA - A - Silicon revision 2.0, CYP - PACKAGE TYPE 841-pin plastic ball grid array, with Pb-free die bumps and Pb-free solder balls, A Extended temperature range (-40°C to +100°C)

I want to know about LOT trace code description (second row on the package marking).

Pavel,

LOT trace code is described in section 3 Package Symbolization and Revision Identification of TMS320C6678 Silicon errata at:
www.ti.com/.../sprz334h.pdf
In general LOT trace code represents read only registers giving information about silicon revision and CPU ID which is not unique for each one chip.
