Hello There:
I read that the TMS320DM6446 chip has a video and imaging co-processor built in but is not accesable for the users, is it the same for the DM648?
Thanks;
Gabriel

This is essentially the same in the case of DM648, the VICP is not publicly documented, typically you would only use the VICP through codecs available from TI and third parties. If you plan on doing codec development that may benefit from the VICP you may want to work with your local TI contact to see what options are available.
Update: There is now a public library available to program the VICP: http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/sprc831.html.
