TDA3: Processor SDK Radar AppImage didn't work

Hi,

I have an TDA3 RVP and xWR1242 radar module from D3 Engineering. I am using the Processor SDK Radar to build an AppImage for the platform based on the instruction provided in the Radar SDK UserGuide. I specifically set the configuration to tda3xx_rvp_bios_radar in the Rules.make config file to build the AppImage. The AppImage size turned out to be about 5.8MB. I then copied the AppImage to the SD that comes with the D3 firmware and replaced the existing AppImage on the card. Inserted the card into the RVP and boot it up. I also have the tera terminal console connected from the RVP to the PC. This worked with the firmware comes with the SD card from D3. However, the AppImage I built from the Radar SDK didn't work at all. There is no console output to Tera Terminal on my PC.

However, when I built the AppImage using the tda3xx_evm_bios_radar, it's simi-working. There is console output on Tera Terminal for this AppImage. However, when I tried to exercise to the Radar use cases, I got I2C errors in log below. Please help resolving this issue.

    tda3xx_evm_bios_radar is not the right config for the RVP board. I am following up with the team to confirm if they are able to reproduce the issue you are facing with respect to the boot of the app image.

    Thanks for looking into the problem.

    The AppIMage built for tda3xx_evm_bios_radar at least runs and shows the console output with some I2C error when tried to run a use case. The tda3xx_rvp_bios_radar AppImage didn't show anything on the console.

    Hi Khai,

    I don't see any issue with tda3xx_rvp_bios_radar AppImage from Radar SDK 3.5 on RVP. There are 2 com ports which will show up after connecting USB cable to RVP.
    Did you select the second one?

    After fixing the break statement in e2e.ti.com/.../735990, are you able to proceed without assertion or you are still facing an assertion with this fix?

    No, still get the assertion at line 273 of chains_common_ar12xx.c

    While building the VSDK code after fixing the break statement, I saw this error during build:

    C:/TI/PROCESSOR_SDK_VISION_03_04_00_00/vision_sdk/apps/configs/autorules_footer_cfg.mk:78: ipc_PATH does not exist! (). Is this OK or that can be a problem?

    So the assertion because the retval is SYSTEM_LINK_STATUS_EALLOC and not SYSTEM_LINK_STATUS_SOK

    The problem you are seeing is the firmware compatibility on the D3 radar module.

    Radar SDK 3.5 require AWR12XX: Version Master: 1.10.0.23.
