Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TMS320DM6467T, TMS320DM6467, PTH08T240W, CDCE949
I'm developing a new DM6467T project on a very short timeline. SoC's will not be available in time for my initial testing. DM6467's (without "T") will be available. Therefore, I'm trying to make sure my PCB will work with DM6467 now and then DM6467T later.
My design relies in part on the DM6467T EVM (actually called Spectrum Digital's HD1080p).
I'm referencing SPRAB44.PDF, "TMS320DM6467 to TMS320DM6467T Migration Guide", and considering only the hardware differences for now.
Can someone please be so kind as to confirm or refute my notes below, or add any ADDITIONAL requirements.
- Core power 1.3V for DM6467T but 1.2V for DM6367. PTH08T240W adjustable power module used requires simply 12.1K instead of 9.84K (9.88K) program resistance.
- DDR2-800 is fast enough for either. Planning on using Cas Latency of 5. (ref http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDR2_SDRAM)
- Must change DEV_MXI input crystal, 33MHz for DM6467T, 27MHz for DM6467.
- Video clocks come from either input encoder or CDCE949 clock synthesizer, not DM6467T, so don't care about 33MHz vs 27MHz crystal change.
- Already providing bigger heat sink for DM6467T, so DM6467 should be OK.
That's all I come up with. Please let me know if I'm mistaken or missed something.
Thanks very much,
Helmut
