Hi All,
I would like to ask a question on Minimum system. It should be a generic question, but since I am familiar only with DavinCi chips, I choose to post it here.
Designing PCB board doesn't seem to be a trivial task. I have heard or read that at least the following rules needs to be observed:
- Equal length in DDR2 memory connection.
- Wider track for major power currents.
- Avoid electromeganetic interference.
And of course there are still many as can be reflected from the whole array of available design rules in EDA tools such like Altium Designer.
But learning from existing examples is always a faster and safter path. DavinCi chip has over 300 balls on the back, and the 6437 one I am using has 361 of them. Finding an arrangement completely from scratch might not be an economical and efficient approach.
So I would like to know:
For TI's own chips, does TI provide
- Footprint for chips
- Minimum system design support, including
a. sample PCB design schematics
b. Gerber file
Do we have these readily available from TI? Or if not, are they obtainable?
Please help.
Sincerely,
Zheng
