Limits of Analog Resolution for DM365 - 1280 x 800 sought

Hello there

I am working on a DM365 board (not the EVM, though mostly compatible). I am currently running the analog video output at 720p.

We have a need for an Component/RGB video output resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels (frame rate less important). From looking at the VPBE Users guide, sprufg9c, pp. 153 section 5.5.1.2, Hardware Setup, I read "The analog output is only available in standard (NTSC/PAL/525p/625p/720p/1080i) timing mode...". Also, on Table 86 on the following page, VMOD.VMD is shown as only settable to 'standard' for Analog output.

However, the various registers which I had hoped to use to set the timing for this non-standard mode, for instance HSPLS Horizontal Sync Pulse Width, HINTVL Horizontal Interval, HSTART etc.,are shown in the table as 'M' - Master mode. Section 4.3,  discussing Master/Slave mode, says that in Master mode such registers must be set. This leads me to wonder if there is any mileage in setting VENC.VMD = 1, and setting up the various timing registers, for such a non-standard resolution.

Is this at all feasible? Or, to perhaps put it another way, what is the documented limitation for the Analog Video output resolution actually down to?

Thanks for any comments/suggestions.
