DRA74: How to Set the Pinmux ?

Part Number: DRA74
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: J6EVM5777,

Hello Ti,

      my board cpu is dra745, and it design reference j6evm5777 board. code source use 6ao1.1.

      how to set the pinmux and iodelay? i know modify uboot  file u-boot/board/ti/dra7xx/mux_data.h.

      But I think I should modfiy kernel too.

      If i want set pinmux , Is only modify mux_data.h?

  • Hi,

    Sorry about the delayed response. Pinmux configuration is to be done at u-boot. However, certain drivers (such as MMC) have options to setup pinmux in kernel as well. You can modify the device tree to have these pinmux entries. Below is a snippet (can be found in arch/arm/boot/dts/dra72-evm.dts).

    mmc1_pins_sdr12: pinmux_mmc1_sdr12_pins {
    pinctrl-single,pins = <
    0x354 (PIN_INPUT_PULLUP | MUX_MODE0) /* mmc1_clk.clk */
    0x358 (PIN_INPUT_PULLUP | MUX_MODE0) /* mmc1_cmd.cmd */
    0x35c (PIN_INPUT_PULLUP | MUX_MODE0) /* mmc1_dat0.dat0 */
    0x360 (PIN_INPUT_PULLUP | MUX_MODE0) /* mmc1_dat1.dat1 */
    0x364 (PIN_INPUT_PULLUP | MUX_MODE0) /* mmc1_dat2.dat2 */
    0x368 (PIN_INPUT_PULLUP | MUX_MODE0) /* mmc1_dat3.dat3 */
    >;
    };

  • Hi,

    TI recommneds to change the iodelay setting while the chip is in isolation to avoid any glitches.

    This is done in the first stage u-boot for most of the peripherals. For MMC only, it should be done from kernel.
