OMAP-L138: McASP stalls permanently

Part Number: OMAP-L138

Hello,

In a custom product development we sometimes see that the McASP transmit DMA stalls permanently
without obvious reason.

We are using OMAP L138 (silicon revision 2.3) running Linux on ARM + custom DSP application (40kHz sample data rate).

Under “normal” conditions this setup runs for days / weeks without a hitch, but under certain
circumstances when a Linux application makes heavy use of the
memory and IO the McASP “stalls” permanently

Any idea what could cause this issue?

Thank you!
