Linux/AM5728: Kernel booting is too slow

Hello,

I am looking for the reason why it takes more than 4 seconds for jumping to kernel from u-boot which is shown as the following:

I guess there are some wrong hardware configuration because it is extremely slow to take 4s for booting kernel. Maybe I didn't format or write the EMMC flash correctly? Thanks for any comment.

Is this the Processor SDK provided by TI? If it is, which SDK version is this?

Hello Hungwei,

This is the stage where the kernel takes control from U-Boot, decompresses itself and does the device tree parsing. Mainly this loading time depends on your kernel size, RAM throughput and CPU frequency. The bigger the kernel is, the more time it takes to load and decompress. To minimize this loading time, you need to reduce the kernel size by removing the unnecessary drivers for your hardware. Please, also see this and this and this and this related threads too.
