C5000 and PIQUA

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TNETV1050

Hi,

I am looking for information on the TI-PIQUA System.
In particular, information on 1.) How to obtain an evaluation environment, 2.) are there 3rd parties that can provide kits?

Your help is appreciated,

  • You can order C5515 EVM on:

    http://focus.ti.com/docs/toolsw/folders/print/tmdxevm5515.html

I am not familiar with TI-PIQUA. It seems to be related to VoIP. You can also try TNETV1050 products.

    What is your application?

  • Hi Steve,

Actually I am looking at the IPTV environment. My application is a test equipment for service providers. It would emulate the STB and do complete service verification including QoS.

  • I think the reason why this has been pending is that there is confusion with what's needed.

So far, this is what I have found:

The TNETV Products are customised DSP's with the VOIP software running on them.
The proprietary nature of these chip-sets makes it difficult to disclose all of the inner workings.

So, let's take a stab at seeing where+how you can get your own VOIP monitering chip set.

There are three parties involved with the TNETV products. Hardware, Software and the Intergration of the two.
TI can provide a hardware platform, which would be the standard evaluation module. The above answer that has the C5515 EVM would be a canidate. There are also C6000 Low Power processors that can be used as a platform (C644 evaluation).

From there, you would need to contact Telchemy for thier software to run on the chip. You can either get the entire suite from them or you can just get VQMON. http://www.telchemy.com/vqmonep.html

Then with your hardware+software, you would need to contact an intergrator to get the software onto the chip for evaluation.
There is a list of 3rd party intergrators that have worked with both Telchemy and the hardware.

http://focus.ti.com/dsp/docs/thirdparty/catalog/embeddedsoftwarefulldetails.tsp?productId=759 (as an example, you can search by others as well).

Depending on where you are hitting your snag will dictate where you can find/get information and procure the product. Unfortunately there is no off the shelf solution.

    Hardware--> TI
Software for VOIP and QoS--> Telchemy
Getting it to work together--> Intergrator of choice
