dm365 hard ecc problem when writing to nand

Hi,

I have leopard dm365 board with 1.2 silicon revision. I need to write to nand flash ubl and uboot (I erased them). I tried serial utils; sfh_DM36x.exe but i got "Write verify failed" error. I added some debug messages to "device_nand.c" and "nand.c" source codes and saw "DEVICE_NAND_ECC_correct(....)" function returns "E_FAIL". I look silicon errata and saw "RBL Code 4bit ECC Mode Limitatiton". And then i borrowed XDS510 USB and tried with CCS 3.3. But i got same results. It's so urgent. Please i need your help.

Hi Mehmet,

We have never used this tool on the Leopard board and therefore have no idea how it would perform. I would assume that the leopard board people would have utilities or procedure to deal with this situation.

Would you post this on Leopard forum (http://designsomething.org/Leopardboard/f/default.aspx ) so it can be better answered.

Hi Tai,

What is the difference betwen SD EVM and Leopard board. I don't think, there is another tool for nand flashing. It is about dm365 chip and nand flash, not board. And they are same on two boards.

Is there any one who used serial port mode(sfh_DM36x.exe) or jtag for writing ubl and uboot on DM365(any board)? sfh_DM36x.exe and JTAG use 4bit hard ecc of emif for verify and there is a big problem 4bit hard ecc on all boards.

So sorry,

Problem is not like i think. I checked that i can write to nand flash, i read page after write but read only 0xFF instead of ubl binary file. But i am not sure i can't write or read. I use leopard dm365 board. JTAG and serial interface (sfh_DM36x.exe) use same source codes. I downloaded from http://arago-project.org/files/releases/davinci-psp_3.x.0.0-r35/sources/flash-utils-davinci.tar.gz . I checked relevant source codes, (device.c (DEVICE_EMIFInit() function), nand.c) but there is no good result.

I used serial loader(sfh_DM35x.exe) on leopard dm355 board without any problem.

I only have the SD EVM so I don't know the difference b/w SD EVM and Leopard board.

I will ask someone to look at your post to see if they can help.

Have to try to post your questions on the Leopard forum that I susgested?
