CCSv4: Available Packages DSP/BIOS not available

Hi

I changed my build configuration from

XDCtools version: 3.16.3.36
Code Gen Tools: 6.1.18
IPC: 1.20.00.23
BIOS: 6.21.03.21
XDAIS: 6.25.01.08

to

XDCtools version: 3.20.04.68
Code Gen Tools: 7.0.4
IPC: 1.21.02.23
BIOS: 6.30.03.46
XDAIS: 6.25.01.08

and the Available Packages item DSP/BIOS disappears.(when you open the .cfg file, the lower LHS shows the DSP/BIOS package that has Communication, Diagnostics, memory Management, etc.)

It only shows the IPC and XDCTools package.

What I need is the target specific packages. Is there a way to get that?

Cheers

  • Hi Eddie,

I believe your project is missing the checkbox for SYS/BIOS.  Can you right click on your project and open its build properties?  Then ensure that the correct version of SYS/BIOS is selected, as shown in the following screen shot:

  • Hi Steven

I don't get the screenshot when I right click on properties for my_project, but I get it when I click on the my_project_configuration folder.

I have been using the above screen to select the different configurations below, and ensured the correct checkbox was selected.

    XDCtools version: 3.16.3.36
    Code Gen Tools: 6.1.18
    IPC: 1.20.00.23
    BIOS: 6.21.03.21
    XDAIS: 6.25.01.08

    and

    XDCtools version: 3.20.04.68
    Code Gen Tools: 7.0.4
    IPC: 1.21.02.23
    BIOS: 6.30.03.46
    XDAIS: 6.25.01.08

    FYI: I am using.

    CCSv4.2.0.10010

    Cheers

  • Hi Eddie,

Can you attach your RTSC configuration project -my_project_configuration- to this post? You can go to the "Options" tab at the top and click on the "Add" button next to the "File attachment" label.

  • Hi

I just checked this issue out with my co-workers system and it also exhibited the same behavior (the DSP/BIOS packages didn't show up).  I've attached my configuration files (the .*s and the .cfg)

    3487.configuration.zip

I think I noticed that the BIOS package was available until I changed the project file CGT to 7.0.4.

    Thanks for looking into this.

  • Also saw the same problem when I created one of the CCSv4 example projects. Its attached.

    8802.LogPrintf_example.zip

I noticed that it didn't create a "my_project_configuration" folder like previous versions. Is this a change or am I not selecting a particular checkbox?

    Cheers

  • Also noticed that CGT 7.x help is missing from CCSv4 help.

Checked this on my co-workers PC. Same.

  • Hi Eddie,

Unfortunately, I could not reproduce this problem with your project - the SYS/BIOS product view comes up everytime.

Is it possible to attach the ".log" file in the ".metadata" folder in your workspace to this post?  Also,  there maybe an installation problem with SYS/BIOS which can explain this problem. Can you navigate to Window -> Preferences -> CCS -> RTSC and navigate to the SYS/BIOS product group. Do you see any yellow colored warning markers next to SYS/BIOS 6.30.03.46?

    Regards

There are no warning markers beside 6.30.

I also included the .metadata log file.

Hope you find something in the log file. Its odd that two PCs have this same problem.

    Cheers

  • Hi Eddie,

There are no clues to the problem that you are seeing in the attached log file. With the versions of the products mentioned by you and CCS4.20, I always see SYS/BIOS in the "Available Packages" view. Do you think we can have a WebEx session to take a look at this problem in your setup?

    Regards

    Amit

  • Would love to. I'm on the Pacific coast. Today and Tuesday are wide open. Let me know when.

    Cheers

  • An update on this issue for the benefit of the community.

We found a bug in XDCtools  which was causing this problem. This problem is seen when XDCtools 3.16.x is used along with XDCtools 3.20.x(00-05) in the system. This bug will be fixed in XDCtools 3.20.06 which is expected by the end of this week. Please review ECL331578 for details of this bug.

Many thanks to Eddie for helping us reproduce this problem in our setup.

    Regards

    Amit
