AM5728: Does sitara support TSN and OPC UA on the same time?

Hi Team,

      Does sitara support TSN and OPC UA on the same time? If not, do we have this plan?

I know AM5728 support OPC UA and AM65xx support TSN. But I can't see a chip can support both. Do you have any suggestions?

    Hi Eggsy, AM65xx should be able to support both. Matricon OPC UA SDK can be configured/scaled down to have a small memory footprint (could even run in an MCU). About Eth interfaces cababilities AM65xx offers Gb Eth port and up to 6 PRU-ICSS Gb ports

         Thanks for your feedback. And I have some below questions from customers.

    1. Do AMIC1xx or AM335x or AM437x support TSN?
    2. Do AMIC1xx or AM335x or AM437x support OPC UA?
    3. Do AM65xx support 100M TSN and 1000M TSN both?
    4.  I know we have a demo that AM5728 run OPC UA sever. It is based on MatrikonOPC™ OPC UA server development kit (SDK) . Customer want to know if MatrikonOPC SDK is open source and free to use on their product?
    5. Do we have a plan to release a demo that AM65xx run OPC UA? If yes, may I know the schedule?  Because customer plan to use AM65xx on their next platform rather than AM57xx.
    6. Do we have a plan to  release a demo that TSN and OPC UA running together?

    PC-- No

    • Do AMIC1xx or AM335x or AM437x support OPC UA?

    PC-- Potentially yes, as Matrikon OPC is scalable. However, currently it is only supported/tested on AM572x with Linux. For other devices and OSes the customer would need to contact Matrikon

    • Do AM65xx support 100M TSN and 1000M TSN both?

    PC-- Yes

    PC-- No, it is commercial. One Open Source alternative is OPC62441 stack

    PC-- Yes this is in the roadmap. I will try to find out schedule and come back to you.
