Purchasing an 8168 EVM and HDMI, Ethernet, etc

Hi 8168 friends.

I'm considering purchasing the 8168 EVM. Before I do, I'd like to get some feedback on the following questions:

1. HDMI support

My hope is to try to use the EVM with a Panasonic LCD-TV, http://www.panasonic.com.my/web/pid/9126 which is 1080p compatible (1920x1080 pclk 148.50MHz), and a Dell Projector 4210X. Will I be able to use the EVM software to test playing videos (or just running any graphical X11 or Android apps) to these HDMI output devices? Will I be able to play audio? Will I be able to receive CEC messages from the remote? I'm wondering to what extent the HDMI support is implemented.

2. Gigabit Ethernet support

What is the expected performance that one can get transferring data over the 8168's EMAC in real life? Say using samba or NFS? Will I be able to read and decode and MPEG2 video file over the network and get 30fps 1080p?

3. Android support

I saw various news releases suggesting Android support is already available for the EVM or will be available by January 2011. Which version of Android is supported on the 8168 (or maybe even multiple versions cupcake/donut/froyo etc?) or will be supported?

4. Newer EVM

I saw there was news about an updated 8168 EVM board. Is there a rough idea of what features are exposed on it? If it has HDMI (video, audio, CEC), dual ethernet ports, SD card slot, WiFi, serial console, and 1 UART connector, then I'd rather buy the new EVM instead of adding various parts to the current 8168 EVM to make it suit my needs.

Thanks,

jaya
