ZOOM II having trouble with CCS.

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP3530

Hi,

I was using a Beagleboard with the OMAP3530 with CCS v3.3 + SR12 and SD XDS560R JTAG and things were going well. Recently I've had to move platforms to the ZOOM II, which runs a OMAP 3430 compatible 36xx (as per my understanding).

I'm trying to get it to work with CCS but have been unsuccessful so far. I have tried the CCS configurations for OMAP3430 but none of them work.

Of the above options, the first gives a memory config error when I load the .out, which probably means I have a wrong gel file.

All the others cause CCS to crash.

Any assistance would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Akshay

  • Akshay,

I took a look at the OMAP3630 device file in CCSv4 and it uses the OMAP3430 GEL files.

However if I compare the 3430 and 3630 files I see that there are differences.  So I am not sure that you can just use the OMAP3430 configuration with a 3630 device.  I don't have access to a board to try.

Normally I would suggest upgrading to CCSv4 but Spectrum Digital no longer supports the 560R in the most recent versions of CCSv4.  They are offering a trade in program depending on how old your emulator is.

I am going to move this into one of the OMAP forums to see if anyone there can help.  I will also see if I can find anyone in the tools group who has used OMAP3630 with CCSv3.3.

    Regards,

    John
