Linux/AM5728: How to use the ECC DRAM function on AM57xx?

Hi TI engineers

I have searched the thing about ECC on AM57xx，it seems that AM5728 can not enable ECC with linux SDK, But AM5748 can do that.

My question is what is the architecture of ECC implemention? Does it pure hardware design related of both hardware and software related?

If we are going to move to AM5748 devices with ECC enabled do we need software changes?

Please read AM572x Errata Advisory i922. This is a hardware issue that has been resolved in AM574x devices.

Hi Biser,

One more question, does the ECC funtion slow down the DRAM speed when it works?

David, the performance hit of enabling ECC is minimal. We have seen much less that 1% performance hit between ECC enabled vs. ECC disabled.
