Hi experts,

Following IPC Doc: "IPC Install Guide Linux", once again i have make promblems, this time for ipc GateMPApp test!

While im trying to execute top level make file in IPC 3.44.1.1 this happened:

the only test app biult in IPC is RPMsg

Both SDK Linux and RTOS are V3.3.0.4

can you give me a solution?

any suggest on how to build am5728 resources without this kind of problems makes me so happy, its taking a lot of my time building stuffs every time i need something for test, so i thank you if you can help

Hi, Ebrahim,

GateMPApp test is not supported for Linux but QNX. Please see IPC User's Guide Tests document: processors.wiki.ti.com/.../Tests

is there any examples on how to use CMEM communicating ARM DSP with Passing Pointers to array data in Linux???

Hi, Ebrahim,

The idea of using CMEM is to provide a contiguous big chunck of memory area. That's the C stands for in CMEM. We have IPC big data example in Linux SDK/example-applications/big-data-ipc-demo-linux-x.x.x.x/host_linux/simple_buffer_example

It was the most short and helpful answer i ever heard on TI thank you very much, soin linux i cant use IPC for passing pointers to array and the only way is using IPC big data. plz confirm this as a Doc for Others not to get confused.

Hi, Ebrahim,

Linux uses virtual addresses so passing pointers won't work.

Hi, Ebrahim,

If the mapping is defined in resource table, passing pointer is possible. The only common parts is the physical address which both DSP and ARM knows. DSP knows the mapping between virtual and physical. It will depend on how application implements.
