uPP driver versions

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAPL138

Hi all,

I've been wondering which version of uPP driver you would recommend to start a new design?

1. The one provided by Joe Coombs

http://processors.wiki.ti.com/index.php/Using_the_uPP_DSP/BIOS_Driver

2. The one provided by PSP (OMAP_L138_setupwin32_1_00_00_11.exe)

What diferences are between them?

Thanks in advance.

Marcelo

  • Marcelo,

I wrote the original uPP driver because there was no driver for that peripheral in the first PSP release for OMAPL138/C6748.  My driver was picked up and upgraded by the PSP team for their more recent releases.  I recommend using the PSP version; it is more full-featured and better-supported than the original driver.

I need to update the wiki page to better explain the current situation.

  • Thank you very much!
