Pinmux file to u-boot/kernel code conversion

Hello Experts,

We have pinmux file for AM5708 customized board. From several wiki's I understood that, there is no tool available to convert pinmux file to respective u-boot/kernel code for AM5708. Is my understanding is correct?

Could you please let me know, what are the files we need to consider to make pinmux file as part of u-boot/kernel code.

Hello Pavel,

By using Ti's Pin Mux Tool we generated Generic File format package with two files(genericFileFormatIOdelay.txt and genericFileFormatPadConf.txt ) and Platform Development Kit files as per http://www.ti.com/lit/an/sprac44a/sprac44a.pdf

We used perl script downloaded from https://git.ti.com/pmt-generic-converter-tool/am57xx_uboot_pin_config to generate u-boot specific configurations using genericFileFormatIOdelay.txt and genericFileFormatPadConf.txt files. we got iodelay.txt and iopad.txt as outputs.

Could you please let me know in which pad configuration structure we have apply iopad.txt modifications as i am unable to find pad configuration structure for AM5708 in board/ti/am57xx/mux_data.h. Can i use AM571x idk pad configuration structure ? or do i need to create separate structure for AM5708?

Gourav,

AM5708 board should be detected as AM571x, thus AM571x IDK code can be used or you can create your own based on AM571x IDK.

u-boot/board/ti/am57xx/board.c
u-boot/board/ti/am57xx/mux_data.h

Your pinmux data should be filled in mux_data.h:

core_padconf_array_essential_am571x_idk[]
core_padconf_array_icss1eth_am571x_idk[]
core_padconf_array_vout_am571x_idk[]

Your iodelay data should be filled in mux_data.h:

iodelay_cfg_array_am571x_idk[]
iodelay_cfg_array_am571x_idk_4port[]

If AM5708 board can not be detected as AM571x, you can try with DRA71x or DRA72x:

u-boot/board/ti/dra7xx/evm.c
u-boot/board/ti/dra7xx/mux_data.h
