OMAP1510 can be interfaced with any external hardware?

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OMAP-L138, OMAP5910hi, consider an instance, i fed the coding of speech recog onto OMAP1510 . Is there any possibility of connecting OMAP1510 with robotic for performing the operation as per the input speech? i need , whether any possibility of connecting OMAP1510 processor wit external hardware ?

    It is difficult to understand what you are asking.  Certainly it is possible of connecting the OMAP1510 processor with external hardware, but you will need to make sure that supported logic levels are honored, interface technologies are appropriate, etc.

    Secondly, I would not recommend starting a project with the OMAP1510.  This is a specific device with a different engagement model than other devices in the TI portfolio.

    Perhaps an alternative you might consider is the OMAP-L138.  This is a device with public documentation and a support forum (ie. the one I moved your inquiry to).

    Hi, Thanks for ur reply. OMAP1510 and OMAP5910 has got enriched application of speech independent recognition. Even BRF6100 can be interfaced with OMAP5910 and the application can be enhanced too. Now i got an idea and doubt that , whether these modules can be interfaced to external hardware, so that speech will be given as input, that would be processed through the OMAP processor and finally the external hardware should perform as per my speech command.whether is it possible? As per ur suggestion, whether OMAP-L138. has got application of speaker independent recog? pls suggest me.

    This is the part that I still do not have clarity on.  What do you mean by interface to external hardware?  Would you be able to give a specific example of what you consider external hardware?

    With reference to above note,  OMAP1510 and OMAP5910 will provide speaker independent recognition for handheld device.

    Just consider the instance of external hardware seems to be the robotic hand !!!

    so whether is it possible to interconnect the OMAP1510 with ROBOTIC HAND,

    so that as per speaker command, THE ROBOT HAND should recognize the speaker by means of OMAP 1510 or 5910 and THE ROBOT HAND should perform the action.

     

    IS IT POSSIBLE?

    whether OMAP 5910 is feasible for SPEAKER INDEPENDENT  speech recognition ?

    whether OMAP5910 can be interfaced to LCD touch screen monitor ?

    If not, pls suggest me the best processor for speaker independent speech recog ?

    No, actually it is not.  If you go to the Product Folder for the OMAP5910 it states precisely that it is not recommended for new designs.

    You will need to indicate which interface the bluetooth solution uses.  Typically this is a UART interface and perhaps a synchronous serial interface for audio (ie. Hands-Free Kit) and therefore, yes those interfaces are available on the OMAP-L138.
