DM3730: Serial(LVDS) LCD Interface

Part Number: DM3730
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DS90C385A

H E L P!!!!

We are using an Gumstix Overo FrieStormY, which has the DM3730 on board.

We are looking to interface a Kyocera Kyocera TCG104XGLPxPCx-ADx-15 for an LCD Display (Serial, LVDS).

Table 7.1,on document Number SPRUGN4R  Pages 1555 and 1556, of the processor "Datasheet" shows 3 differential channels.  for Data and Clock.

As far as I can see, I need 4 or 5 channels, total, 4 or 3 Data channels and 1 clock channel.

Please help solve the conundrum...

Very Respectfully,

Sr Hardware Engineer

Tetracore Inc.

Display vendors often refer to the FPD-link standard as "LVDS".

What you mention here is actually MIPI DSI interface.  It is not compatible with FPD-Link.  This is getting out of my area of expertise, but I think you need something like the DS90C385A to take the parallel video output and convert to FPD-Link (aka "LVDS") for your display.
