Display unit for Leopard board

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TVP5146

Hi,

I'm developing display driver for Leopard board. I'm testing the driver using the Color TFT LCD monitor shipped with Davinci(DM6446) EVM. My doubt is whether this Display unit is compatible with Leopard board? If I cannot use this Display unit can somebody suggest which display units are available that work with leopard board ?

regards,

T.Dilip Chakravarthy.

  • TFT LCD monitor supports NTSC (or PAL if you have the European version); it does not really matter if the the source for the display comes from a Leopard board, the hard-drive, USB drive, ethernet or TVP5146...so long as it is NTSC video...  I have used a leopard imaging board capturing 720x480 and displaying it on TFT LCD included with EVM.  Of course, if you want to capture and display 720p, then you will need a new display since the one included does not support 720p....

  • Hello Juan,

Can you please provide more details on how you interfaced with the LCD?

we would like to display these images locally on an LCD display. The leopard board does have an LCD output, but we need some guidance on how to go about enabling the display output and what kind of LCD shall work with this.

We have been trying the directfb.org library which looks suitable for our application. Its a thin simple windowing system with support for QT. However, we havent had much success with it. Is there a TI reference driver/App which we can use?

Please let us know in which direction to move forward.

    Best Regards

    Feroz
