FreeRTOS is not supported by TI (and I am not aware it was run on TDA2x).

This page explains about POSIX support for FreeRTOS & TI-RTOS in SimpleLink SDK : dev.ti.com/.../posix_project_zero.html

In similar lines, we are looking for POSIX support for FreeRTOS / TI-RTOS, for the hardware TDA2xx in our project (i.e., for DRA7xx ARM A15 processor for which the RTOS SDK details available here : software-dl.ti.com/.../index_FDS.html

Although there is a related forum post found with answers, we are not sure if this is applicable for TDA3 only ?

Hi Sathiyan,

the post you mention is for enabling POSIX in VisionSDK.
I will ping another expert to help with enabling POSIX in processor_sdk_rtos_dra7xx (if possible).

Please note that that only a subset of POSIX API is supported, you can check:

Hi Sathiyan,

Do you want FreeRTOS running on just M4 or also on A15? As is mentioned in the other threads/links provided above, POSIX support in SYS/BIOS only contains a subset of pthread support but isn't a full POSIX implementation. I'm not sure about the other claim about only being tested on A15 but it should be able to work on M4 as well.

It looks like the SimpleLink SDK has provided a POSIX layer on top of FreeRTOS for that SDK. Unfortunately this is for a completely different class of TI microcontrollers and is not implemented the same for TI processors like TDA2xx. This is something you will have to implement yourself or through another 3P engagement for porting FreeRTOS to this platform. If you do decide to implement yourself then I suggest you review the SimpleLink SDK for reference as there would likely be high degree of similarity for the FreeRTOS API.

The requirement is to get FreeRTOS running in A15 processor with POSIX support enabled.

We had already referred those links/document. In our application we have included PTHREAD and POSIX APIs that are marked as supported in that TI wiki page.
