TMS320C6678: Which UART interface to use

Hi,

I am working on a real-time processing project using TMS320C6678L DSP. Can you recommend which UART interface should I use, the mini USB or the onboard RS232? Thanks!

Are you using the TMDS320C6678L EVM or is this a custom board?

Hi,

In that case you can use both of them. The usb port & the three pin COM1 port are the same port. You can configure on which of them to have the console output by changing the COM_SEL1 jumpers.

Hi,

okay noted. can I ask how would I know which of the 6 pins on the board is the COM_SEL 1.3-COM_SEL 1.5 and COM_SEL 1.4-COM_SEL 1.6 ? do you have a diagram because my board does not have labels on the pins. thanks!
