RTOS/AM6548: what does "dwc" means?

Part Number: AM6548

Tool/software: TI-RTOS

I am learning about the USB driver of AM6548,

and at this path : ti\pdk_am65xx_1_0_3\packages\ti\drv\usb\src\dwc

there are several files named with dwc

for example: usb_dwc_dcd.c

would you please tell me what does dwc means?

Hi,

It means DesignWare Controller (Core). The Core IP for USB3.0 is common from Synopsis DesignWare that is being used in many platforms like TI, Qualcomm etc

Hi,

It is just the name of the usb controller, similar to ehci or xhci.

according to your answer and datasheet, my understanding is :dwc is the name of the usb controller,
and the interface that dwc used is XHCI, is it right?

Yes, you are right. dwc3 implements xHCI :

"USB 3.0 xHCI Host mode certified by the USB-IF"

Correct.

The DWC controller is a dual-role controller, it can works in either host mode or device mode. The host mode implements xHCI Spec, the device mode is DWC USB Device Controller.
